THIS IS DA HOLOGRAM.
I'm a co-founder and frequent conspirator with Soft Web Studio Collective, a queer community of care that to make space for artists in Richmond VA.
I'm currently based in NYC
DA HOLOGRAM is a publisher and distro based in NYC specializing in positive propaganda and psychedelic black power comics.
I'm a multidisciplinary artist - I am interested in storytelling. I'm inspired by nature and life and chaos, patterns and ancestors. I love DIY outsider art and experimenting with new mediums.
Freaks and lovers of the spiral are welcome.
DA HOLOGRAM was first inspired by the book soul talk, by Akasha Hull , which explores the creative practice abd collective consciousness that was working through black femme creatives in the in the 90s. This was the first time I had heard of holographic matrix theory from a black femme perspective, and from there da hologram in all of its various iterations was born. I am also inspired by black quantum futurism and the works of octavia butler and the performance and art of brontez Purnell
